Anderson Knight is currently recruiting for a Legal Assistant on behalf of a highly respected and established law firm based in Glasgow.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy and supportive legal team within a professional environment where you will play a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of the department. Working closely with Partners, fee earners, and colleagues across the wider business, the successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative and operational support while contributing to the overall efficiency of the team.

Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Secretarial Support
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to fee earners across multiple offices, ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation of the department.
- Act as a professional first point of contact for clients, handling calls and enquiries on behalf of team members where required.
- Coordinate departmental meetings, training sessions, and CPD activities.
- Manage diaries, scheduling, and staff holiday records.
- Support the continued development of a paper-lite working environment, ensuring documents are managed effectively and securely.
Legal Administration
- Assist with file review processes to ensure matters are progressed accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Communicate with clients on a regular basis and respond to queries as directed by fee earners.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
- Support the onboarding and induction of new employees, including fee earners, trainees, and support staff.
Billing & Reporting
- Assist with the monthly billing cycle, ensuring all activities are completed accurately and within deadlines.
- Support the review of outstanding balances, fee reports, and timesheet information.
- Produce and maintain reports and spreadsheets relating to billing activity and fee earner workloads.
- Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives across the team.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate administrative abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A professional, proactive, and client-focused approach.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and reporting information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Desirable
- Previous experience within a legal or professional services environment.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and legal administrative procedures.
- Experience using legal case management systems.
