Anderson Knight are seeking a highly skilled Group Accountant to lead the consolidation and technical accounting function across our organisation.

This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely and compliant group financial reporting, supporting both statutory and management reporting and providing insight that informs strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, proven consolidation experience and a proactive approach to driving process improvements across a multi-entity environment.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP.
  • Manage group-level reporting to the parent company, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee intercompany reconciliations, eliminations, and foreign currency adjustments.
  • Drive continual improvements in group reporting processes, systems, and data integrity.
  • Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts for the group and its subsidiaries.
  • Liaise with external auditors, ensuring smooth year-end audits and timely submissions.
  • Ensure full compliance with UK financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver group-level financial analysis, variance commentary, and KPIs to senior leadership.
  • Consolidate business unit budgets and forecasts, providing insights into performance trends.
  • Identify opportunities and risks to enhance financial performance and efficiency.
  • Review subsidiary submissions for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal accounting policies.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, ensuring a robust governance framework across the group.
  • Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, including ERP and reporting system enhancements.
  • Support process automation and optimisation projects to streamline group consolidation activities.
  • Provide technical accounting input for strategic projects, including corporate restructures and acquisitions.

Candidate Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CA).
  • Professional experience in group consolidation, multi-entity reporting, and technical accounting.
  • Strong proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Deep knowledge of UK GAAP, including complex accounting standards and consolidation principles.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence across all levels.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced commercial environment, delivering results under tight deadlines.
