Anderson Knight are seeking a Financial Accounting Manager to lead and elevate our accounting function, ensuring timely, accurate and insightful financial reporting while encouraging a culture of innovation and operational engagement.
About the Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will oversee the daily operations of the Finance department. You will play a pivotal role in driving process improvement, strengthening internal controls and providing actionable financial insights to support strategic decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and statutory financial statements.
• Ensure full compliance with UK accounting standards, internal policies, and reporting deadlines.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
• Manage year-end audit preparation and act as the primary liaison with external auditors.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a finance team, driving a culture of accountability, learning, and high performance.
• Manage workloads, set priorities, and drive consistent delivery of accurate financial information.
• Champion ongoing professional development and coaching initiatives.
• Maintain and continuously enhance internal financial controls and processes.
• Develop, implement, and document accounting policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic reforecasts.
• Monitor performance against budgets, ensuring effective cost control and resource allocation.
• Identify and implement process efficiencies across the accounting function.
• Drive automation, system enhancements and adoption of digital tools to optimise financial operations.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team.
The main candidate will be:
• Fully qualified accountant (CA or ACCA).
• Proven experience in a supervisory or management accounting role.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with accounting software (and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience in process improvement, system implementation, or digital transformation.
• Working knowledge of UK Gaap.
