Anderson Knight are supporting our global client to recruit a Category Manager. The Category Manager will be responsible for driving value and service improvements across the end-to-end supply chain. Using category management and supplier segmentation methodologies, the role will deliver optimal commercial outcomes, improve supplier performance, and support the organisation’s strategic procurement objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and execute end-to-end strategic sourcing strategies in line with the organisation’s procurement and supply chain strategy.
- Segment the supplier base by commercial value and risk, and define appropriate supplier management strategies for each segment.
- Manage the performance and relationships of a portfolio of key strategic suppliers.
- Act as a centre of excellence for contractual and commercial matters, providing expert advice and leading quarterly business reviews with senior stakeholders.
- Identify and develop category opportunities that deliver tangible commercial and operational benefits.
- Support and lead tender processes, including evaluation and supplier selection.
- Lead and support supplier negotiations, with a strong focus on commercial outcomes.
- Agree annual savings targets with senior procurement leadership and consistently deliver against these.
- Develop and maintain robust reporting frameworks to track savings delivery, including full audit trails and sign-off documentation.
- Create and implement a stakeholder engagement plan to ensure effective, tailored relationship management across the business.
- Undertake additional duties as required in line with the responsibilities of the role.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Degree educated or equivalent
- Professional procurement qualification (e.g. CIPS or equivalent)
Desirable:
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven negotiation capability
- Strong analytical skills, including confidence using Microsoft Excel
