Anderson Knight is currently recruiting a Buyer to join a leading manufacturing organisation based in Glassgow City Centre.

In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, components, and services to support the manufacturing operations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery to meet production schedules and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Sourcing and Procurement: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to procure raw materials, components, and services.
• Cost Management: Manage budgets effectively, driving cost savings without compromising quality.
• Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and efficiency.
• Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
• Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Reporting: Maintain accurate procurement records and provide regular updates on purchasing activities and cost analyses.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience in purchasing/procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of procurement best practices and supply chain management principles.
• Proficiency in [specific software, e.g., SAP, Microsoft Excel, or ERP systems].
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
